Usually I’m the one giving Interior Design Classes and Workshops so it was so nice to take some time out and attend an Interior Stylist Masterclass at the Holborn Studio’s in London. The Masterclass was given by renowned stylist Melinda Ashton Turner who’s held many prestigious positions to include the Style Editor of Australians Vogue Living. Melinda is also a weekly columnist for The Sunday Times and The Guardian Weekend.
The Masterclass was wonderful and it was a fabulous opportunity to gain insight into this specific industry. Interior Stylists come from many different backgrounds to include Interior Designers, Retail, Fashion Designers, Visual Merchandising etc. and I met some fabulous people on the course.
During the afternoon we had a hands on session in the studio where we learnt about the role of the photographer and how to direct a photographer to get the best possible shot.
We created many Vignette Interior Sets and I’ll think you’ll agree that they all look fabulous.
So do I fancy a career as an Interior Stylist….well I definitely thinks its a possibility…finding the time is another factor but I definitely have all the attributes necessary ! But either way its a skill-set that will enhance Aspire Design and Perfect Headboards…plus I’ve already enrolled on an Interior Styling and Photography workshop taking place at the Institute of Design in Dublin thanks to The Interiors Association. Looking forward to that one too, Thanks, Louise
