We were delighted with the response we received for our ’50 Shades of Grey’ bedroom Room-Set at Colortrends Interior Design Forum at the Ideal Home Show in the RDS.
I chose a very dark grey colour from Colortrend called ‘Prestige’ for the contemporary panelled walls to create an amazing backdrop for the entire room. The Panelling was completed by my carpenter Oliver Coleman Carpentry and looked stunning.
I’ve then layered the space with different shades of grey, whilst mixing the textures through out to add interest and depth to my space.
Whilst it’s calming and relaxing colour scheme is ideal for a perfect night’s sleep. This bedroom shows how you can experiment with the use of grey, from dramatic charcoals to soft silvers.
One of the main features of this opulent bedroom design is one of my own headboard designs in a luxurious embroidered faux silk fabric by KOBE which will make a real statement. The headboard will have a raised border and will look stunning against the panelled backdrop. The headboard is available in a range of different colours and will be available to order through my website www.perfectheadboards.ie
The mirrored furniture also adds space and light to the room whilst still working with my grey scheme. The fabrics have been carefully chosen for their luxurious texture as texture is probably the most important component in my scheme. I’ve also paid particular attention to detail in the space and you will see beautiful trimmings on my curtains and cushions as well as studded detailing on my bedroom furniture.
The furniture I’ve chosen for my room set is from one of my new ranges called Argente. This elegant mirrored bedroom set includes two bedside cabinets and a dressing table. It’s elegant design includes mirror legs and top with crystal handles and is amazing for adding light and space to any bedroom. I also have a coordinating chest of drawers available to order.
The curtains are made from a rich luxurious velvet from KOBE in a very light shade of grey which provides and amazing contrast again the ‘Prestige’ paint colour. I have added an opulent tassel fringe in charcoal and silver which give these curtains that custom look which combined with the 10 inch French Pleat curtain heading create a stunning window treatment.
For the flooring I have chosen a Timeless carpet in a silver/grey colour called Misty Air which is available from the Aspire Design Studio. This carpet is perfect for bedrooms and living rooms. The timeless carpet is a hardwearing soft Saxony, bleach cleanable and stain resistant carpet which makes it very practical indeed and ideal for living rooms and bedrooms. It’s also very affordable which makes it a tempting purchase for any client.
For the lighting I’ve chosen a antique grey wooden bedside table lamps which again showcases another dimension in terms of materials and textures which is available to order from the Aspire Design studio. I’ve opted for one centre fitting from National Lighting on the Nangor Road in Dublin. It’s a stag 6 light pendant with chrome finish. It’s crystal detailing compliments the handles in the furniture, whilst its chrome appearance ties in with the Cut Crystal chrome curtain pole.
We were thrilled with the publicity we received for our Room-set Design from the Irish Independent, Irish Times, House and Home Magazine, The Interiors Association and Colortrend Paints.
