Step 1: Lay out all the pieces of your hemnes bedside cabinet from IKEA

Step 2: Mark off the area you do not want to paint with masking tape to achieve the dipped look.

Step 3: Prime the furniture, I used Colourtrends Prime 1 Acrylic

Step 4: Once the primer is dry, paint two coats of your chosen colour. I chose Holly Blue by Colortrend in Eggshell.1 litre is €22

Step 5: I then stencilled the area on the drawer using a stencil from Royal Design studio called African Plumes which costs $32.95.

Step 6: Whilst waiting for the furniture to dry, I used the drawer base as a template to cut out a drawer liner in a blue and white fabric.

Step 7: Once dry, assemble the pieces and remove masking tape.

Step 8: Add some new drawer pulls. I chose these blue glass door knobs from Zara Home @ €6.99 for the pair.

Step 9: Add your accessories
